AMSOIL Diesel Injector Clean and Cetane Boost
AMSOIL Diesel Injector Clean and Cetane Boost (ADS) is a concentrated diesel fuel additive that combines the detergency and lubricity package of AMSOIL Diesel Injector Clean with the ignition-quality improvers in AMSOIL Cetane Boost in one bottle. It is designed for warm-weather use in heavy-duty and light-duty on-road, off-road, and marine diesel engines, and it is safe for all diesel fuels including biodiesel and ultra-low-sulfur diesel.
Removes internal diesel injector deposits
Modern high-pressure common-rail diesel engines run injection pressures above 30,000 psi through injector clearances as tight as 1 to 3 microns. Internal diesel injector deposits in those clearances cause sticking, slow needle response, and even seizure, all of which interrupt spray patterns and reduce horsepower, fuel economy, and idle quality. Diesel Injector Clean and Cetane Boost uses an advanced detergent chemistry that targets internal injector deposits along with traditional carbonaceous deposits on injector tips, restoring spray pattern, throttle response, and rated power closer to like-new condition.
Eight-point cetane increase at clean-up dose
Cetane number measures the ignition quality of a diesel fuel. Higher cetane shortens ignition delay, which makes combustion more complete and the engine quieter, smoother, and easier to start in cold weather. Restores lubricity to ultra-low-sulfur diesel
Ultra-low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) is required for on-road use in the United States, but the desulfurization process strips most of the natural lubricity from the fuel. That increases wear on injection pumps and injector internals, particularly on common-rail systems with tight clearances. The ADS additive package improves lubricity in ULSD test fuels, with measured wear scars below the EMA target of 460 micrometers in ASTM D6079 lubricity testing.
Extends fuel filter life and protects against corrosion
Hot fuel returned from the injection pump to the tank causes carbonaceous deposits that collect in the secondary fuel filter and shorten its life. The detergent chemistry in Diesel Injector Clean and Cetane Boost protects against these deposits, which extends the time between fuel filter changes. The additive also includes a corrosion inhibitor that protects steel components in the tank, lines, and injection pump from condensation-driven corrosion, particularly important for equipment that sits between uses.
Treat rates and how to dose
Diesel Injector Clean and Cetane Boost is added to the tank before refueling so the additive mixes evenly as the new fuel goes in. I have been adding this to my tank every fill up for 70k miles. It works phenomenally because I am able to tell the difference when I ran out or forgot to add it. My mileage goes down and it feels like my truck is sluggish comparatively. I will continue to use this till something better comes along.
