The Diesel Fuel Contamination Test Kit (KIT10) is the AMSOIL Oil Analyzers diesel fuel contamination test, used to confirm or rule out water, sediment, and aerobic bacteria in a diesel fuel sample. The kit ships with 32-ounce sample container, UPS pre-paid shipping label, sample form, and instructions.
The 32-ounce container size is sized for the contamination test panel, which is sensitive to sample volume. Smaller sample volumes can produce false negatives on aerobic bacteria population.
Oil Analyzers Inc. returns a written report covering the results of every test in the kit, plus an interpretation that flags any value outside normal limits for the equipment type and fluid in service. Reports identify wear-metal trends, contamination sources, additive depletion, and viscosity drift. The report is the basis for deciding whether the lubricant has remaining service life, whether the drain interval should be lengthened or shortened, and whether the equipment shows early signs of internal wear.
Documenting the equipment, the lubricant, the operating hours or mileage, and the date with each sample lets the lab build a trend over time. A single sample is a snapshot; trended data across several samples is what reveals slow shifts in wear-metal levels, contamination, or additive consumption that single-shot testing can miss.

This kit is for diesel fuel samples only. Engine oil and other lubricants use the standard Oil Analyzers kit (KIT01, KIT02, or KIT06); coolant uses KIT09.
The standard kits (KIT01, KIT02, KIT06) include the full lab panel: 24 metals by ICP, percent fuel dilution, percent soot, water by crackle, viscosity, and Base Number or Acid Number. The value kit (KIT14) is a less expensive entry-level panel covering 24 metals by ICP, viscosity, and Base or Acid Number, intended to answer the simpler question of whether the oil should be changed. Owners and shops running an extended-drain program generally pick a standard kit; owners doing periodic spot checks generally pick the value kit.
Commercial kits (KIT15 Failure Analysis, KIT16 Maintenance Improvement, KIT17 Drain Interval Improvement) are sold to commercial accounts and include access to Oil Analyzers Inc. technical interpretation tied to the program goal (root-cause investigation, ongoing maintenance, or drain-interval extension). The standard consumer kits (KIT01, KIT02, KIT06) deliver the same core lab data without the program-specific commercial reporting layer.
KIT01 ships with a USPS postage pre-paid label, KIT02 ships with a UPS pre-paid label, and KIT06 ships without a shipping label so the sender supplies the carrier. KIT09 (coolant) and KIT10 and KIT11 (diesel fuel) ship with UPS pre-paid labels. The commercial kits (KIT15, KIT16, KIT17) and the value kit (KIT14) ship without a shipping label.
Lab turnaround is typically several business days from receipt of the sample. Total elapsed time depends on the carrier transit time on the chosen shipping option. Commercial accounts that batch samples through a courier or a regional shipping center should plan for additional transit days versus a single sample on a UPS pre-paid label.
For passenger vehicles on extended-drain AMSOIL synthetic motor oil, sampling at the next-to-last interval before a planned drain provides a useful baseline. For commercial fleets and equipment, sampling at every drain or at fixed hour-based intervals is the standard. The Oil Analyzers report identifies whether the chosen interval is appropriate for the equipment, the duty cycle, and the lubricant in service.
