AMSOIL 100% Synthetic ATV/UTV Transmission and Differential Fluid
AMSOIL Synthetic ATV/UTV Transmission and Differential Fluid is a 100 percent synthetic API GL-5 gear lubricant engineered for the gear-driven transmission and differential housings on modern ATVs and side-by-sides. The shear-stable formulation is built for hard-working machines loaded with cabs, winches, plows, skid plates, and aftermarket accessories, where heavy payloads, high torque, and heat punish fluids formulated for standard service. Product code AUDT.
Severe-service wear protection
Synthetic technology delivers reserve protection for machines burdened with the added weight and stress of a payload, a cab, a winch, a plow, and other accessories. The formulation carries outstanding film strength and resists extreme pressures, which protects heavily loaded, high-torque gears and bearings against wear in the most severe operating conditions. AUDT records a 0.46 mm wear scar in ASTM D4172 Four-Ball Wear (150 C, 1800 rpm, 40 kg, 1 hour), a standard wear-bench test for gear lubricants.
Extreme-temperature performance
Heat generated by towing, hauling, and slow-speed plowing can cause lubricants to break down, leading to harmful deposits and accelerated wear. AUDT cools critical components and resists the effects of extreme heat to deliver reliable protection in severe service. The fluid posts a flash point of 210 C (410 F) and a fire point of 220 C (428 F) in ASTM D92, which gives the formulation strong thermal headroom for plow trucks, payload haulers, and aggressive trail riders.
Cold-weather performance is equally important because gear oil that stiffens overnight shock-loads gear teeth on the first ride out. Synthetic base oil keeps AUDT mobile down to a -43 C (-45 F) pour point in ASTM D97, supporting reliable lubrication in winter starts and cold-storage conditions.
Shear-stable viscosity
Extreme pressure and high torque cause oils formulated for standard service to lose viscosity through mechanical shear, which thins the protective oil film and exposes gear flanks to metal-to-metal contact. The shear-stable synthetic formulation in AUDT holds a kinematic viscosity of 15.6 cSt at 100 C and 120.4 cSt at 40 C in ASTM D445, with a viscosity index of 136 in ASTM D2270. The wide operating range maintains a stable hydrodynamic film across hot summer hauling and cold winter plowing.
API GL-5 extreme-pressure protection
AUDT meets the API GL-5 service classification, the industry benchmark for hypoid and ring-and-pinion differential applications carrying high tooth loads. The extreme-pressure additive system builds a sacrificial chemical layer at the contact patch when surface temperatures spike, the same mechanism that protects an automotive differential under towing and rock-crawl loads.
Foam and aeration control
Foam in a sealed gear case displaces oil from gear and bearing contact zones and can cause cavitation pitting on tooth flanks. AUDT records 0/0/0 mL of foam tendency and stability across Sequences I, II, and III of ASTM D892, indicating tight foam control under the agitation that occurs in tightly packed ATV transmission and differential housings.
Warranty Secure replacement for OEM gear-case fluids
AUDT is positioned as a cost-effective, high-performance replacement for vehicle manufacturer-branded ATV and UTV gear-case fluids and is backed by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty (G1363). It is Warranty Secure, so installing it as a service fluid does not void a new ATV or UTV manufacturer warranty.
Recommended applications and service intervals
AUDT is built for the gear-driven transmission and differential housings on ATVs and UTVs from major powersports OEMs. It is not a CVT clutch fluid, an engine oil, or a hydraulic fluid, and it should not be used in those systems.
Use in ATV and UTV transmissions and differentials, including machines made by Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Can-Am, and Suzuki.
Severe-service applications include winching, plowing, towing, hauling, riding with cabs, and aftermarket accessories that add machine weight, and aggressive riding on tough terrain.
The recommended drain interval is the original equipment manufacturer's published oil change recommendation for the affected gear case.
For machine application match outside the listed brands or for model-specific lookup, refer to the AMSOIL Vehicle Lookup Guide.
AUDT is compatible with other conventional and synthetic ATV/UTV gear-case lubricants, but mixing dilutes the additive package and reduces the performance benefits of the synthetic formulation. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended in AUDT-filled gear cases. The fluid should be changed at the OEM-specified interval and any time the gear case is exposed to water ingress, such as deep water crossings, submerged rides, or cracked output-shaft seals.

Good product. I did not change the fluid myself, but at least I know it is the longest lasting.

utv trans oil
the oil is fine but the bag isn't as easy to use as i had hoped it would be just not enough room to get the bag in and try and roll it up next time i will buy bottles and pump it in

Utv oil change
I started using amsoil products when I bought my krx SXS new, they have always been fair of price and they have a oils/lubricants for every thing I ever need, thumbs up for customer service and satisfaction
What goes in the rear differential and transmission on an ATV or UTV?
Most ATV and UTV gear-driven transmissions and differentials call for a dedicated gear oil that meets API GL-5 and is designed for the heat, torque, and shock loads of off-road service. AUDT is engineered specifically for those gear-case applications on machines from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Can-Am, and Suzuki. The owner manual should be consulted for the exact fill capacity and required service interval before any drain and refill.
Is AUDT the same as ATV CVT fluid?
No. ATV CVT fluid is engineered for the specific friction characteristics of clutched continuously variable transmissions and is not interchangeable with a gear-case lubricant. AUDT is the gear oil for the sealed transmission and differential housings on ATVs and UTVs. Machines with a CVT belt drive require a CVT-specific fluid in the clutch case, separate from the gear cases that AUDT serves.
What viscosity grade and API spec does AUDT meet?
AUDT measures 15.6 cSt at 100 C and 120.4 cSt at 40 C in ASTM D445, with a viscosity index of 136 in ASTM D2270 and a pour point of -43 C (-45 F) in ASTM D97. The fluid meets the API GL-5 service classification for hypoid and ring-and-pinion gear protection in differential and transmission applications.
Can AUDT be used in a Honda Pioneer or Foreman gear case?
The applications list covers ATV and UTV transmissions and differentials made by Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Can-Am, and Suzuki, so Honda Pioneer side-by-sides and Honda Foreman ATVs with gear-driven transmissions and differentials fall inside the recommended scope. The owner manual should be checked for any model-specific friction-modifier or fluid-color requirement, and the AMSOIL Vehicle Lookup Guide can confirm the right fluid by year, make, and model.
Does AUDT void a new ATV or UTV warranty?
No. AUDT is Warranty Secure and is positioned as a cost-effective, high-performance replacement for vehicle manufacturer-branded ATV and UTV gear-case fluids. Using AMSOIL synthetic lubricants does not void a new ATV or UTV manufacturer warranty, and the product is backed by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty (G1363).
How often should the gear-case fluid be changed?
The recommended service interval is the original equipment manufacturer's published oil change recommendation for the affected transmission or differential housing. Severe-duty riding, deep water crossings, and heavy plow or winch work generally call for shorter intervals than the standard recommendation, and any signs of water ingress or contamination should trigger an immediate change.
