AMSOIL DOMINATOR Synthetic Racing Grease (GRG) is an NLGI #2 calcium sulfonate complex grease built on a high-viscosity-index synthetic base oil for high-speed, high-heat, and heavily loaded racing service. The grade targets stock-car wheel bearings, drag-racing axles, sprint-car CV joints, motorsport spindle assemblies, and chassis fittings on track, dirt, snow, and water-exposed equipment. The grease meets the NLGI GC-LB performance grade for wheel bearing and chassis lubrication and operates from -40 F to 350 F (-40 C to 177 C).
Extreme-pressure and anti-wear protection
Heavily loaded race wheel bearings, axles, and CV joints develop sudden shock loads and sustained contact pressure that strip film thickness from typical multipurpose greases. The DOMINATOR formula carries a Four-Ball EP Weld Point of 500 kgf in ASTM D2596 against a 200 kgf minimum, a Load Wear Index of 62 against a 30 minimum, and a Timken OK Load of 60 lbs in ASTM D2509. Re-grease intervals are governed by the equipment manufacturer and racing duty cycle.
- Wipe grease fittings clean before injecting fresh grease to prevent contaminant ingestion at race wheel bearings, CV joints, and chassis points.
- Maintain bearing housings one-third to one-half full of grease and avoid over-greasing, since excessive packing causes heat buildup that shortens bearing life under race loads.
- Supplement standard greasing on a maintenance schedule by cleaning and repacking housings with fresh grease, particularly after off-road, dirt-track, or water exposure.
- Outside the United States and Canada, follow the equipment manufacturer's recommended grease specification and re-grease interval.
The grease is compatible with many other types of grease. When changing greases, clean the old grease from the housing where possible, or flush the system with a liberal amount of fresh DOMINATOR Synthetic Racing Grease while the mechanism is in operation, then monitor for any inconsistencies.
