AMSOIL NLGI #2 Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease is a heavy-duty multi-purpose grease engineered for the pivot pins, king pins, bucket pins, bushings, and bearings that take the highest loads on construction, mining, logging, agricultural, and earth-moving equipment. The formulation pairs a calcium-sulfonate complex thickener with a proprietary synthetic polymeric additive to deliver exceptional impact resistance, water washout resistance, and adhesion in wet, muddy, and high-shock service.
Polymeric technology for shock-load and impact resistance
Heavily loaded off-road components subject grease to severe pounding at the pivots and bushings, which can squeeze a lesser grease right out of the impact zone and leave metal-to-metal contact behind. The synthetic polymeric system in GPOR2 produces an unusually tenacious film with high adhesion (clinging to the component) and cohesion (clinging to itself), helping the grease stay in place under shock loads and across extended service intervals. NLGI #2 Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease is purpose-built for heavy-duty, heavy-load-bearing applications operating in the adverse conditions found in agricultural, construction, landscaping, logging, and mining environments. Typical lube points include pivot pins, king pins, bucket pins, bushings, and slow-moving bearings on heavy equipment.
- Recommended equipment: power shovels, drag lines, wheel and track loaders, excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, dump trucks, fifth-wheel plates, and other heavy-duty machines with heavily loaded pivot and bucket pins.
- Pumpability: GPOR2 pumps best in temperatures above 40 F. The same tenacity that resists impact also makes it harder to pump in cold conditions, so the NLGI #1 grade (GPOR1) is the better choice for service below 40 F.
- Larger packages: a heavy follower plate may be needed when pumping from 35 lb. pails, 120 lb. kegs, or 400 lb. drums.
- Centralized systems: not recommended for automatic or centralized lubrication systems on heavy equipment unless the system is designed to successfully pump a tackier grease.
The formulation is compatible with many other types of greases. When changing greases, the equipment should be cleaned of the old grease where possible or flushed with a liberal amount of fresh GPOR2 while the mechanism is in operation, then monitored closely for any inconsistencies.
