AMSOIL 10W-30 100% Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil is a severe-service formula built for shared-sump ATV and UTV powertrains that call for an SAE 10W-30 grade. The lighter viscosity targets hard-working four-wheelers that haul, plow, and run aggressive trail loops, including utility ATVs and UTVs made by Honda. The 10W-30 grade meets API SJ and JASO MA, so it pairs cleanly with wet clutches that share oil with the engine.
Severe-service engine protection
Roof and door panels, skid plates, winches, plows, and added cargo all increase the severity of operation on a small-displacement ATV or UTV engine. Aggressive riding through mud, sand, hill climbs, and deep ruts piles on more heat than a stock duty cycle. Standard-service oils break down sooner under that load, raising the risk of accelerated ring, cam, and bearing wear.
This 10W-30 grade is engineered with a synthetic base stock and severe-service additive package that holds up under the heat and rpm spikes that come with that kind of use. The formula delivers reserve protection against heat for heavily loaded engines and provides reliable wear protection in hot, high-revving service.
All-weather flow and heat resistance
The 10W-30 grade remains fluid in sub-zero temperatures for excellent startup protection, with a pour point of -42 C (-44 F) measured by ASTM D97. That cold-flow margin keeps oil moving to the cam, lifters, and rod bearings on the first crank of a cold morning, before the engine has a chance to build pressure.
On the hot side, the formula resists thinning from extreme heat and mechanical shear, holding a 3.3 cP HT/HS viscosity at 150 C (ASTM D5481) and a viscosity index of 148 (ASTM D2270). That combination keeps the oil film intact when shrouded engines build cylinder-head temperature during hard work or sustained trail running.
Wet-clutch compatibility and consistent shift feel
Most utility ATVs and shared-sump UTVs run a wet clutch lubricated by the same oil that feeds the crankcase. Friction modifiers blended into automotive passenger-car motor oils can cause that wet clutch to slip, fade, or chatter under load. This 10W-30 grade contains no friction modifiers and meets the JASO MA wet-clutch friction standard, which qualifies it for shared-sump engines that specify JASO MA.
The formula promotes smooth shifting and positive clutch engagement, helps control clutch-pack heat, and supports clutch life across long days of low-speed plowing, towing, or technical trail work.
Cooling shrouded ATV and UTV engines
ATV and UTV engines sit inside tight plastic body panels, cargo racks, and skid plates that restrict airflow to the cylinder and head. Coolant handles part of the load, but the oil pulls heat out of pistons, crank journals, valvetrain, and the wet clutch and carries it back to the sump. The 10W-30 formula is built to aid in cooling shrouded engines while resisting oxidation that produces sludge and varnish, so internal passages and rings stay clean over the service interval.
Purpose-built alternative to Honda OEM 10W-30 fluid
This 10W-30 is formulated specifically for Honda UTVs and ATVs that call for a 10W-30 motor oil, providing a high-performance alternative to OEM-branded fluid for owners who want a fully synthetic option in that grade. Use in any ATV or UTV that specifies 10W-30, API SJ, and JASO MA. Confirm grade and clutch friction class with the local guide below before purchase.
Recommended applications and service intervals
This 10W-30 grade fits ATVs and UTVs that require an SAE 10W-30 motor oil meeting API SJ and JASO MA, including those made by Honda. For service intervals, follow the original equipment manufacturer's oil-change recommendation in the owner manual for the specific machine, model year, and duty cycle. Severe service such as plowing, towing, mud running, dust, and deep water raises sump temperature and contamination, and typically calls for shorter intervals than the standard schedule.
Standard service: change at the OEM-published interval for normal operation.
Severe service: shorten the interval per the OEM severe-duty schedule for plowing, towing, mud, dust, and short trips.
Not for use in ATVs or UTVs that specify a different viscosity grade such as 10W-40, 5W-40, 5W-50, or 0W-50, or in machines built for racing or alternative fuels.
Outside the United States and Canada, confirm grade and clutch friction class against the local owner manual before use.
Pair the oil change with an AMSOIL Oil Filter or the OEM-spec filter, drain at full operating temperature for cleanest evacuation, and skip aftermarket oil additives. Mixing other synthetic or conventional oils into the sump will shorten oil life and reduce performance benefits.

Available as a single quart (AUV30QT-EA) or a case of 12 quarts (AUV30QT-CA). The product is Warranty Secure and is backed by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty as a high-performance replacement for vehicle manufacturer-branded fluids. To confirm the right grade and friction class for a specific machine, check the vehicle lookup guide and the ATV and UTV oil guide, then check current pricing and order online: AMSOIL 10W-30 100% Synthetic ATV/UTV Motor Oil.
This 10W-30 grade is intended for ATVs and UTVs that require an SAE 10W-30 motor oil meeting API SJ and JASO MA, including those made by Honda. Other utility ATVs and UTVs spec 10W-40, 5W-40, 5W-50, or 0W-50 instead. Always match the grade printed on the owner manual or the cap rather than swapping based on brand alone, and match the right product with the vehicle lookup guide before ordering.
Can this oil be used in a Honda Foreman, Rancher, or Pioneer that calls for 10W-30?
Yes, when the owner manual for the specific Foreman, Rancher, or Pioneer model and year lists SAE 10W-30 with API SJ and JASO MA. Some Honda ATV and UTV models call for a different grade, so verify the printed spec for the exact machine in the vehicle lookup guide. Substituting a 10W-40 or 5W-40 in an engine that calls for 10W-30 is not recommended.
Is this oil safe for wet clutches?
Yes. The formula contains no friction modifiers and meets JASO MA, which qualifies it for shared-sump engines with wet clutches. It promotes smooth shifting and positive clutch engagement and is built to support clutch life across hard-working duty cycles.
What is the recommended oil change interval?
Follow the original equipment manufacturer's oil-change recommendation in the owner manual for the specific ATV or UTV. The 10W-30 grade does not publish a fixed extended interval. Severe service such as plowing, towing, mud, dust, and short trips typically calls for shorter intervals than the standard schedule listed in the manual.
Will using this oil void the factory warranty?
No. The product is Warranty Secure and is backed by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty as a high-performance replacement for vehicle manufacturer-branded fluids. Using this synthetic oil in place of OEM-branded 10W-30 does not void the ATV or UTV factory warranty.
Can this 10W-30 be mixed with other oils or aftermarket additives?
The formula is compatible with other synthetic and conventional motor oils, but mixing shortens oil life, reduces performance benefits, and rules out extended drain intervals on the mixed sump. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended; the additive chemistry is already balanced for shared-sump ATV and UTV use.
