Riders often burden their ATVs and UTVs with accessories meant to boost productivity, but which also increase heat and stress. Aggressive riding, meanwhile, also takes its toll on gears, bearings, and other components. Synthetic ATV/UTV Powertrain Fluid's exclusive formulation delivers the confidence to let you safely push your machine to the limit. In addition, it's Warranty Secure and will not void your ATV or UTV warranty.

AMSOIL 100% Synthetic ATV/UTV Powertrain Fluid (AUPT) is a multi-purpose, wet-brake-compatible drivetrain lubricant for ATV and UTV transmissions, differentials, front drives, and hub reductions that call for Polaris Demand Drive Fluid or Polaris AGL Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant and Transmission Fluid. It is a powertrain fluid, not an engine oil, and replaces the OEM-branded gearcase and transmission fluid in the chassis, leaving the engine sump on its existing motor oil. AUPT carries the AMSOIL Warranty Secure designation, and using it does not void the factory warranty.
Severe-service wear protection for high-torque gears
The synthetic base oils in AUPT resist viscosity loss from mechanical shear better than conventional gear and transmission fluids, holding a load-carrying film between gear teeth, bearings and clutch plates under heavy work and aggressive riding. In the Four-Ball Wear Test (ASTM D4172) Para 3 (150 degrees C, 1800 rpm, 40 kg, 1 hr), AUPT produced a 0.39 mm wear scar, supporting confidence on machines fitted with plows, winches, cab kits, and other accessories that increase weight and severity of service.
Cold-weather flow and low pour point
AUPT carries a -50 degrees C (-58 degrees F) pour point (ASTM D97) and a Brookfield viscosity of 10,288 cP at -40 degrees C (ASTM D2983), so the gearcase, transmission and front drive see prompt fluid flow on cold morning starts. Low-temperature pumpability matters as much in a stored UTV as it does on a January plow run, and the formulation reduces the energy wasted churning thick, cold lubricant before the chassis reaches operating temperature.
Thermal stability and clean components
Working transmissions and differentials run hot, and oxidation byproducts insulate gear teeth and bearings, raising operating temperature further. AUPT resists oxidation better than standard-service lubricants, which helps prevent the deposits that act as an insulator inside the case. Transmissions, differentials and front drives stay cleaner, run cooler and hold performance over the full service interval.
Wet-brake compatibility and chatter control
Many ATV and UTV gearcases share lubricant with wet brakes or with clutched demand-drive front differentials, which require precise frictional behavior to avoid grabbing and squeal. AUPT is formulated to be wet-brake-compatible and is designed to prevent clutch chatter in Polaris demand-drive front differentials, providing smooth engagement of all-wheel-drive in the RANGER, RZR, GENERAL, and Sportsman platforms.
Multi-grade viscosity for a single-bottle service
AUPT measures 7.4 cSt at 100 degrees C and 36.6 cSt at 40 degrees C (ASTM D445) with a viscosity index of 175 (ASTM D2270), and a flash point of 230 degrees C (446 degrees F) and fire point of 248 degrees C (478 degrees F) by ASTM D92. The grade is purpose-built so one fluid covers the transmission, the differentials, the front drive and the hub reductions on machines that specify Polaris Demand Drive Fluid or Polaris AGL, instead of stocking two OEM lubricants for the same vehicle.
Recommended applications and service intervals
AUPT is the powertrain lubricant for Polaris RANGER, RZR, GENERAL and Sportsman transmissions, differentials, front drives, and hubs that specify Polaris Demand Drive Fluid or Polaris AGL Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant and Transmission Fluid, plus other ATVs and UTVs that require a wet-brake-compatible fluid. Service intervals follow the original equipment manufacturer's published schedule for the gearcase and transmission, not the engine sump.
Polaris RANGER, RZR, GENERAL and Sportsman transmissions, differentials, front drives, and hub reductions specifying Polaris Demand Drive Fluid or Polaris AGL.
ATVs and UTVs from Argo, Kawasaki, and Yamaha calling for a wet-brake-compatible drivetrain fluid.
Not for use in applications that require an API GL-5 hypoid gear oil, in engine crankcases, or in continuously variable transmission (CVT) belt housings.
Service interval matches the OEM gearcase and transmission fluid change recommendation in the owner's manual; reference the AMSOIL vehicle application match guide before ordering.
AUPT can be used to refill or top off any compartment that previously ran Polaris Demand Drive Fluid or Polaris AGL without flushing residual OEM fluid, and aftermarket friction modifiers or slip additives are not required and not recommended.

Excellent Product!
This stuff is amazing!! We have a Polaris Ranger 1000 and a Polaris General XP4 1000 And the transmission is twice as smooth on takeoff!! It was an amazing difference! I wish I would have started using this oil from the start!

UTV Powertrain
Great product and these containers make it simple to fill the tighter areas on a UTV
Is this an engine oil or a gear and transmission fluid?
AUPT is a powertrain fluid for ATV and UTV transmissions, differentials, front drives, and hub reductions. It is not an engine oil and does not go in the crankcase. The engine sump still takes its specified ATV or UTV motor oil; AUPT replaces the OEM-branded gearcase and transmission fluid elsewhere in the chassis.
Does it replace Polaris Demand Drive Fluid and Polaris AGL?
Yes. AUPT is purpose-built as a high-performance alternative to Polaris Demand Drive Fluid and Polaris AGL Synthetic Gearcase Lubricant and Transmission Fluid in Polaris RANGER, RZR, GENERAL and Sportsman transmissions, differentials, front drives, and hub reductions. One bottle covers compartments that the factory splits across two OEM lubricants.
Will using this fluid void the factory warranty?
No. AUPT is Warranty Secure, meaning it keeps the ATV or UTV factory warranty intact when used in the applications shown. It is also backed by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty (G1363) as a high-performance replacement for vehicle-manufacturer-branded gearcase and transmission products.
Is the fluid compatible with wet brakes and demand-drive clutches?
Yes. AUPT is formulated to be wet-brake-compatible and is designed to prevent clutch chatter in Polaris demand-drive front differentials. The same wet-brake-compatible chemistry covers other ATV and UTV makes, including Argo, Kawasaki, and Yamaha models that call for a wet-brake-rated drivetrain fluid.
Where should AUPT not be used?
AUPT is not for use in applications that require an API GL-5 hypoid gear oil, such as automotive rear differentials with hypoid ring-and-pinion sets that specify GL-5. It is also not an engine oil and not a CVT belt-housing fluid. Match the bottle to the gearcase, transmission, front drive or hub reduction the manual specifies for Polaris Demand Drive Fluid or Polaris AGL.
How often should the fluid be changed?
The service interval follows the ATV or UTV manufacturer's published schedule for each compartment. Drain intervals vary by model, accessory load, water exposure and duty cycle, so the OEM service chart in the owner's manual remains the reference for change frequency.
