AMSOIL 0W-20 LS-VW 100% Synthetic European Motor Oil (product code EZT) is a low-SAPS synthetic engine oil engineered for the Volkswagen Group fuel-economy specification used in late-model TFSI gasoline and TDI diesel engines. The formulation carries VW 508.00, VW 509.00 and Porsche C20 approval along with ACEA C5 performance, and it is intended for owners of recent Audi, Volkswagen and Porsche vehicles whose factory service fill calls for a 0W-20 in the VW Group LS-VW family.
Built around VW 508.00 and 509.00
The 0W-20 LS-VW formulation is engineered against the Volkswagen Group combined gasoline and diesel fuel-economy specification, listed in factory service documentation as VW 508.00 for TFSI gasoline engines, VW 509.00 for TDI diesel engines, and the related TL 52577 internal standard. The Porsche C20 approval and ACEA C5 sequence confirm the low-SAPS, low-HTHS performance class shared across modern European fuel-economy oils.
EZT is the dedicated VW and Audi 0W-20 grade in the AMSOIL European Motor Oil family. It is not interchangeable with the regular 0W-20 LS European product (product code AFE), which targets BMW LL-17FE+, MB 229.71 and other non-VW low-SAPS approvals. Vehicles whose service fill specifies VW 508.00 or 509.00 need EZT.
Low-SAPS chemistry for GPF and DPF protection
VW 508.00 and 509.00 belong to the low-SAPS family of European oils. Low sulfated ash, phosphorus and sulfur levels are required so the engine oil does not contaminate gasoline particulate filters, diesel particulate filters, three-way catalysts and SCR catalysts downstream of the combustion chamber. The 0W-20 LS-VW additive system stays inside those SAPS limits while still delivering the anti-wear, oxidation and detergent performance demanded by direct-injection engines that ingest small amounts of oil through normal blow-by and PCV recirculation.
Cold-flow performance and turbocharger startup
The 0W winter rating is supported by a measured cold-cranking simulator viscosity of 5,501 cP at -35 degrees C and a pour point of -44 degrees C (-47.2 degrees F) per ASTM D5293 and ASTM D97. That cold-flow envelope helps the oil reach the turbocharger center bearing and upper valvetrain quickly on a cold start, when most engine wear is generated, and reduces the time the turbo cartridge runs near oil starvation before full pressure is restored.
Thermal stability and shear resistance
Hot-end performance is anchored by an ASTM D5481 high-temperature, high-shear viscosity of 2.7 cP and an ASTM D5800 NOACK volatility of 8.9 percent weight loss. The HTHS reading sits inside the ACEA C5 fuel-economy band, while the NOACK figure indicates how much of the oil evaporates under sustained high temperature, a key contributor to oil consumption and ring-land deposits in turbocharged direct-injection engines. The 100 percent synthetic base oil resists oxidation and viscosity breakdown across the full European long-drain service interval.
Engine cleanliness and acid neutralization
Direct-injected European engines are sensitive to deposit formation around intake valves, turbocharger center sections, and piston ring lands. The detergency package in 0W-20 LS-VW is tuned to keep ring grooves and turbo bearings clean while controlling sludge and varnish. Total Base Number is 8.8, giving reserve alkalinity to neutralize acidic combustion byproducts in both gasoline and diesel service across the OEM-specified drain interval.
Compatibility and limited warranty
0W-20 LS-VW is compatible with other synthetic and conventional engine oils, but mixing shortens in-service life and reduces performance benefits, and extended drain coverage is not supported when oils have been mixed. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended. The product is backed by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty, and using AMSOIL synthetic motor oils in a vehicle that requires a VW 508.00, 509.00 or Porsche C20 service fill does not void factory powertrain warranties.
Recommended applications and service intervals
Use 0W-20 LS-VW in gasoline or diesel European vehicles whose service fill requires any of the following standards: API SN-PLUS or API SN; ACEA C5; VW 508.00, VW 509.00 or VW TL 52577; or Porsche C20. Typical applications include late-model Audi TFSI engines, current-generation Volkswagen Tiguan, Atlas, Jetta and Passat TFSI engines, selected VW TDI engines carrying the 509.00 service fill, and Porsche models that have moved to the C20 0W-20 fuel-economy oil.
Normal and severe service: follow the drain interval established by the vehicle manufacturer for the LS-VW or VW 508.00 / 509.00 grade. Replace the oil filter at every oil change.
Do not use in engines that specify a different VW Group standard such as VW 502.00 (mid-SAPS gasoline), VW 504.00 / 507.00 (mid-SAPS gasoline and diesel), or VW 505.00 / 505.01. Those engines require the corresponding viscosity in the AMSOIL European Motor Oil family.
Not recommended for racing engines, engines modified beyond OEM specification, or alternative-fuel engines outside the listed approvals.

For 20 years I am using the Amsoil and will mot use anything else. I owned many (more than 20) different cars during these years and always used Amsoil. Will 0W-20 LS-VW work in an engine that calls for VW 502.00, 504.00 or 507.00?
No. VW 502.00, 504.00 and 507.00 are different oil quality standards with different viscosity, HTHS, and SAPS requirements. Substituting a 0W-20 LS-VW oil in an engine that calls for one of those grades is not recommended. Those engines need the corresponding viscosity in the AMSOIL European Motor Oil family, such as the 5W-30 AEL grade for engines calling for VW 504.00 / 507.00.
Is this the right oil for an Audi or Porsche that lists 0W-20?
Check the engine sticker and owner manual for the exact OEM oil quality standard. If the manual lists VW 508.00, VW 509.00, VW TL 52577 or Porsche C20, then 0W-20 LS-VW (product code EZT) is the correct service fill.
