AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil

AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil is a value-tier 0W-20 engine oil for modern gasoline cars, light trucks, SUVs, and crossovers that call for a 0W-20 viscosity. The formula combines quality conventional base oils with greater than 50 percent premium synthetic content and an advanced additive system, giving daily drivers an upgrade in protection over conventional 0W-20 without stepping up to a full-synthetic price tier.

Boosted synthetic content for modern engines

Today's gasoline engines run hotter and tighter than the engines this viscosity grade was first written for. Direct injection, variable valve timing, stop-start systems, and small-displacement turbochargers all push lubricants harder than the duty cycles a conventional 0W-20 was designed around. AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil was formulated with these technologies in mind. Greater than 50 percent premium synthetic base oil content delivers better thermal stability and oxidation resistance than a conventional 0W-20, helping the oil hold its grade longer through daily commutes and tough tasks.

All-temperature protection

The combined synthetic and conventional base oil blend, paired with an advanced additive package, gives AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil a wide useful operating window. The formula stands up to heat to control deposit formation, resist viscosity thickening, and limit oil consumption. The 0W winter rating produces a cold cranking simulator viscosity of 6,200 cP or lower at minus 35 degrees C and a pour point of minus 46 degrees C (minus 51 degrees F) by ASTM D5293 and ASTM D97, so the oil flows quickly at startup in cold weather and lubricates components before wear can begin.

Detergency that keeps engines clean

A high dose of detergent and dispersant additives works alongside the boosted synthetic content to resist deposit formation and control sludge. That matters most for the daily commuter that sees frequent short trips, the kind of duty cycle that heats engine internals enough to cook contaminants but rarely runs long enough to fully boil off fuel and moisture. AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil keeps piston ring lands, valve stems, and timing-chain galleries cleaner than a conventional 0W-20 across the same drain interval.

Lower volatility helps reduce oil consumption

NOACK volatility is held to 12.5 percent weight loss or lower by ASTM D5800. Lower volatility means fewer light fractions of the oil flash off through the PCV system and combustion chamber, which translates into less makeup oil between scheduled services and fewer of the deposits that volatilized oil leaves behind. Engines that have been showing low-oil messages between scheduled services often see the gap shrink after switching from a conventional 0W-20 to a partial synthetic with this NOACK ceiling.

API SP and OEM-aligned performance

AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil meets API SP with Resource Conserving, SN Plus, and SN performance categories, plus ILSAC GF-6A, GF-5, and GF-4. The same fill carries GM dexos1 Gen 3, Chrysler MS-6395, and Ford WSS-M2C962-A1 specifications, the OEM service categories used across many modern small-displacement turbo and direct-injection gasoline engines. High-temperature high-shear viscosity is held at 2.6 cP or greater at 150 degrees C by ASTM D5481, supporting hydrodynamic film thickness during heavy load and high-rpm operation.

Recommended applications and service intervals

Run AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil in any gasoline-powered car, light truck, SUV, crossover, or van whose owner manual calls for one of the specifications listed above. For a quick application match check by year, make, model, and engine, use the AMSOIL vehicle lookup guide. Service intervals follow the schedule printed in the vehicle owner manual or indicated by the on-board oil-life monitoring system.

Replace the oil filter at every oil change. AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil is compatible with other synthetic, synthetic-blend, and conventional motor oils, but mixing oils shortens the useful life of this formulation and reduces its performance benefits. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil.

    Best oil for my acura

  • First time using

my 06 liberty is starting to use/leak oil. Too expensive to use synthetic oil and have it disappear and keep replacing it. Thought I would try the Blend because its about the same price as oil from discount stores. This way I get to keep using AMSOIL.

  • AMSOIL USE

I HAVE BEEN A DEALER, AND HAVE USED AMSOIL FOR NEARLY 50 YEARS. I WOULDN'T USE ANY OTHER SYNTHETIC OIL. AL AMATUZIO STARTED THIS AND IT USED TO BE CALLED AMZOIL. THIS THE ONLY PRODUCT I USE IN ANY OF MY VEHICLES.

Frequently asked questions

What is synthetic blend motor oil?

Synthetic blend motor oil is a finished engine oil that combines conventional petroleum base stocks with a portion of synthetic base oils, then carries a full additive package on top. AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil sits at the upper end of that category with greater than 50 percent synthetic content, which positions it as an upgrade from a conventional 0W-20 toward the performance of a full synthetic.

How often should AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil be changed?

Follow the change interval printed in the vehicle owner manual or the interval indicated by the on-board oil-life monitoring system. Replace the oil filter at every oil change. Drivers running mostly highway miles in moderate climates typically follow the OEM normal-service interval, while severe-service duty cycles such as frequent short trips, towing, dusty roads, or extreme cold use the shorter severe-service interval listed by the vehicle manufacturer.

How does Synthetic-Blend compare to AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-20?

AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-20 is the 100 percent synthetic flagship and is rated for extended drain intervals well beyond the OEM schedule. AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil is positioned as the value-tier upgrade from a conventional 0W-20, intended for drivers who change at the OEM-recommended interval but want the cleaner combustion, lower volatility, and turbo and direct-injection focus of a partial-synthetic formulation. The AMSOIL 0W-20 oil guide walks through the differences side by side.

Is this oil safe in turbocharged or direct-injection engines?

Yes. AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil carries API SP with Resource Conserving and ILSAC GF-6A approvals, plus GM dexos1 Gen 3, Chrysler MS-6395, and Ford WSS-M2C962-A1 specifications. Those standards cover the modern turbocharged gasoline direct-injection engines that the formulation is targeted at, and the bulletin lists the same fill for both naturally aspirated and turbocharged 0W-20 service.

Can it be mixed with conventional or full-synthetic 0W-20?

Yes. AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil is compatible with other synthetic, synthetic-blend, and conventional motor oils, so a mid-trip top-off with another 0W-20 will not harm the engine. Mixing other oils does shorten the useful life of this fill and reduces its performance benefits, so plan to drain and refill with a full charge of AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil at the next service. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended.

Does running this oil affect the new-vehicle warranty?

No. Using AMSOIL synthetic lubricants does not void a new vehicle or equipment manufacturer warranty, and AMSOIL 0W-20 Synthetic-Blend Motor Oil is covered by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty. Keep oil-change records that show date, mileage, product code, and filter part number to satisfy any future warranty-claim documentation request.
