The AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic V-Twin Oil Change Kit, 5 Quarts with Black Filter (HDMB) is a single-package oil change for most 1999-2016 Harley-Davidson Big Twin and Sportster motorcycles, combining five quarts of AMSOIL 20W-50 Synthetic V-Twin Motorcycle Oil (MCV), one black AMSOIL Motorcycle Oil Filter (EAOM134), and a drain-plug O-ring in one box. Everything required for a single AMSOIL service comes together so the rider does not have to assemble parts separately.

The combination delivers five quarts of MCV oil, which covers most 1999-2016 Harley-Davidson Big Twin and Sportster engine and transmission service capacities. Riders with a higher-capacity Touring or Trike model that needs a fifth quart for the primary may prefer the 5-quart version of this kit, while riders running a single-quart-shy service generally choose the 4-quart kit.
MCV is AMSOIL's flagship 20W-50 synthetic V-twin oil and is multi-functional across the engine, transmission, and primary chaincase, so a single oil covers all three sumps on a Harley-Davidson V-twin. It is built on synthetic base oils that resist oxidation in the high temperatures common to air-cooled V-twins, especially in summer stop-and-go riding and parade-pace traffic where oil temperatures can reach 300 degrees Fahrenheit and cylinder temperatures climb above 400 degrees.
MCV contains a heavy treatment of anti-wear additives to protect cam lobes, lifters, gears, and bearings, and the formulation is shear stable, retaining viscosity through transmission and primary service better than common reference V-twin oils. It contains no friction modifiers, so it is wet-clutch safe, supports smooth shifting, and protects against clutch slippage and glazing. The high TBN of the additive package neutralizes the acids that degrade clutch material, which extends clutch life. MCV passes the ASTM D1748 humidity cabinet rust test, providing rust protection valuable for bikes that sit between rides or are stored over the winter.
The EAOM134 is the black variant of the AMSOIL EAOM Motorcycle Oil Filter line. It uses full-synthetic media that delivers 99 percent filtering efficiency at 20 microns based on industry-standard ISO 4548-12 testing. Construction features include a silicone anti-drainback valve that holds oil in the filter at shutdown, a long-life nitrile sealing gasket, an 11 to 17 psi bypass relief valve, and a fluted spin-on body for easy removal. The black housing is the standard finish for stock-appearance bikes; a chrome version of the same internal filter is available in the HDMC kit for owners who prefer a chrome housing on a Harley-Davidson Sportster, Softail, Touring, or Dyna.

Confirm the exact year, model, and service capacity through the AMSOIL Vehicle Lookup Guide and the best oil for Harley-Davidson guide before ordering. Riders with a 2017-and-newer Milwaukee-Eight Big Twin should check the lookup result, since AMSOIL recommends a different oil grade for that engine.
For best results, change the engine oil and filter together at the interval Harley-Davidson recommends for the model and the operating conditions. The drain-plug O-ring included in the kit replaces the previous-service O-ring at the same time. The transmission and primary chaincase use the same MCV oil but follow their own change intervals; with extra quarts on hand, the same oil can be carried across the engine, transmission, and primary services so the bike runs on a single supplier program. The matching filter wrench is the AMSOIL GA251 (76 mm) for the EAOM134 filter.

The 4-quart kit (HDBK and HDCK) is sized for Sportster and most Big Twin engine-only services that take roughly 4 quarts. The 5-quart kit (HDMB and HDMC) adds an extra quart, which covers higher-capacity Touring and Trike services or leaves a spare quart for primary and transmission top-offs. Both kits use the same MCV oil and the same EAOM134 filter; the difference is the quantity of oil in the box.
Both filters are the AMSOIL EAOM Motorcycle Oil Filter with the same internal media, anti-drainback valve, sealing gasket, and bypass relief valve setting. The black filter (EAOM134) ships with a flat-black housing for stock-appearance bikes; the chrome filter (EAOM134C) ships with a polished chrome housing for show-finish builds. Performance is identical between the two.

The matching AMSOIL filter wrench is the GA251 (76 mm) with a 3/8-inch square drive. It reaches into tight Harley-Davidson chassis where a band-style wrench will not fit and provides controlled torque for the recommended 0.75 to 1.25 turns past hand-tight.
