AMSOIL 100% Synthetic DCT Fluid (DCT) is a purpose-built, fully synthetic fluid for wet-clutch dual-clutch transmissions in passenger cars, sport sedans, and supercars. Built on synthetic base oils with a friction-stable additive package, the formula serves as a single fluid that covers the long DCT specification list used by BMW, Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, VW, Audi, Volvo, Nissan GT-R, Mitsubishi, and McLaren. It is engineered to deliver fast, clean shifts and to hold viscosity in the high-heat, high-torque service that defines modern DCT operation.
Friction durability and shudder control
Dual-clutch transmissions can shift in fractions of a second, but the wet-clutch packs that handle launch and low-speed crawl are prone to shudder and lurching when the fluid cannot hold a stable friction curve. Synthetic DCT Fluid is engineered with frictional properties that prevent shudder in sophisticated dual-clutch transmissions and consistently produce fast, smooth shifts. Exceptional friction durability keeps the fluid stable in stop-and-go traffic, and the formula promotes stable synchronizer engagements, which extends the working life of the transmission.
Wear protection for gears, bearings, and synchronizers
The hot side of a DCT runs gears, bearings, and clutch-pack components at temperatures that punish ordinary fluids. Synthetic DCT Fluid resists the extreme heat in today's high-temperature DCTs to provide complete protection for gears, bearings, and other vital parts. High film strength combined with anti-wear and extreme-pressure additives is specifically formulated to protect the metal surfaces inside a DCT, including the steel-on-steel contact points where load and heat concentrate.
Heat and oxidation resistance
Maintaining proper viscosity at extreme temperatures is critical to protecting the components of a dual-clutch transmission. Synthetic DCT Fluid provides complete protection during the intense conditions native to high-performance sports sedans and supercars, holding a flash point of 230 C (446 F) and a fire point of 244 C (471 F) by ASTM D92. The synthetic chemistry resists oxidation and thickening, which keeps shift quality consistent during track use, towing, and aggressive driving.
Shear stability under high torque
Transmission fluid can shear at the molecular level as it passes between gear teeth, which leads to reduced viscosity and decreased wear protection. Synthetic DCT Fluid resists shear and provides consistent viscosity, even in the extreme stress of high-horsepower, high-torque applications. The Four-Ball Wear Test (ASTM D4172B at 40 kg, 75 C, 1200 rpm, 1 hour) records a scar of 0.41 mm, and the formula carries a viscosity index of 171 (ASTM D2270), confirming a wide operating viscosity window from cold start to full operating temperature.
Cold-temperature flow
Wet-clutch DCTs in northern climates need a fluid that flows immediately at startup so that the clutch packs, synchronizers, and electronic actuators see lubrication before the first shift. Synthetic DCT Fluid carries a pour point of -58 C (-72 F) by ASTM D97 and a Brookfield viscosity of 8,822 cP at -40 C (ASTM D2983), which keeps the fluid pumpable at temperatures where conventional DCT fluids can stall. Cold-start protection translates directly into reduced wear during the first miles of every drive.

Synthetic DCT Fluid should be changed according to the vehicle manufacturer recommendations for the transmission. The fluid is not formulated for dry-clutch DCTs that call for an OEM-specific dry-clutch fluid, for continuously variable transmissions (CVTs), or for conventional automatic transmissions that require ATF. Synthetic DCT Fluid is compatible with other DCT fluids that meet the same specifications, but mixing reduces the performance benefits of a clean fill. Aftermarket fluid additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL synthetic transmission fluids. AMSOIL products are backed by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty.

Bought this fluid for my 2020 C8 Z51. It was time for a trams fluid change and since I've used AMSOIL products for years I decided on this DCT fluid. It hasn't disappointed. Better and smoother shifting were the first noticeable improvement. Maybe it's because I changed fluid at 30k, who knows. This fluid is recommended if PENTASIN FFL-4 fluid is used so I bought. I use AMSOIL products in all my vehicles and have never had any issues.

What is DCT fluid and how is it different from ATF or CVT fluid?
DCT fluid is a friction-modified transmission fluid built for wet-clutch dual-clutch gearboxes that combine manual-style gear sets with electronically managed clutch packs. ATF is built for conventional planetary automatic transmissions with torque converters, and CVT fluid is built for steel-belt or chain-driven continuously variable transmissions. The friction curves, additive packages, and viscosity targets are different for each, so substituting ATF or CVT fluid in a DCT is not supported and can cause shudder, harsh engagement, or accelerated wear.
Will Synthetic DCT Fluid cover a VW or Audi DSG that calls for G 052 182?
Yes for wet-clutch DSG applications. The specification list for Synthetic DCT Fluid includes VW/Audi G 052 182, G 052 529 (A2, A1, and A6), and TL 521 82, which covers wet-clutch DSG variants such as DQ250 and DQ381. Dry-clutch DSG transmissions like DQ200 use a separate OEM-specific dry-clutch fluid and are not covered by this product.
Is this the correct fluid for a Porsche PDK?
Synthetic DCT Fluid covers Porsche PDK applications that call for part numbers 999.917.080.00, 043 207 29, 043 207 30, or 000 430 20. Verify the exact PDK fluid part number in the Porsche service information for the model year before ordering, and use the AMSOIL Vehicle Lookup Guide to confirm application match.
Does it fit Ford PowerShift transmissions (DPS6 and MPS6)?
Yes for Ford PowerShift applications that call for WSS-M2C200-D2, XT-11-QDC, WSS-M2C936-A, or XT-14-L. The DPS6 dry-clutch PowerShift and the MPS6 wet-clutch PowerShift both have specific fluid call-outs, and Synthetic DCT Fluid is approved against the listed WSS-M2C specifications. Match the part-number call-out in the vehicle service information before changing fluid.
How often should DCT fluid be changed?
Synthetic DCT Fluid should be changed according to the vehicle manufacturer recommendations for the transmission. Many DCT manufacturers specify a fluid and filter service in the 40,000 to 60,000 mile range under normal conditions, with shorter intervals under severe service such as track driving, towing, or constant stop-and-go traffic. Always follow the interval and procedure printed in the owner manual or factory service information for the specific transmission.
Can Synthetic DCT Fluid be mixed with the existing factory fluid?
The formula is compatible with other DCT fluids that meet the same specifications, but mixing reduces the performance benefits of a clean fill. A complete drain and refill, or a fluid exchange that flushes the residual factory fluid, is the preferred service. Aftermarket fluid additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL synthetic transmission fluids.
Will using Synthetic DCT Fluid void a new vehicle warranty?
No. Using AMSOIL synthetic lubricants does not void a new vehicle or equipment manufacturer warranty, and all AMSOIL lubricants are covered by the AMSOIL Limited Warranty.
