The AMSOIL 3.45 OD x 3.11 ID Bypass Gasket (BP220) is a replacement gasket for the AMSOIL Bypass System lineup, sized 3.45 in. O.D., 3.11 in. I.D., 0.261 in. thick. It seals the filter housing to the mounting baseplate at the gasket face, where the bypass element threads onto the head, and it ships as a single piece for service replacement when the bypass element is changed.
The BP220 gasket is the matching service part for the BK302 mounting head used in the Universal Dual-Remote Bypass System (BMK23) and the GM 6.6L Dual-Remote Bypass System (BMK27). The same part number covers any of the listed mounting heads regardless of the engine the system is installed on.
Replace the gasket every time the bypass element is changed. Lightly oil the new gasket with a clean drop of engine oil before installing the housing, then thread the housing on by hand to the recommended turn count past contact. Overtightening crushes the gasket and causes leaks; undertightening allows seepage under operating pressure. The matching bypass element (AMSOIL EaBP series) and any related service hardware should be inspected at the same time so the system is returned to service with all sealing surfaces in known condition.
